CST-Microwave studio- transformer simulation
Hi, I want to simulate a power transformer in CST-microwave studio. pls help me..
Why you need to simulate Power Transformer in CST?
Can you explain a bit?
Hi, thanks for ur concern.. I just want to simulate how the uhf waves(from a partial discharge source) traverse thro' the transformer structure inside the tank.. thank u.
Hmmm What I get that you want to explore the affect of UHF on transformer in some way.
If it is the case it means you are simulating some sort of antenna as winding of transformer will act as radiating coil depending on the frequency you are working with.
Well if this is right then you can simulate it as antenna I am not sure if it will serve your purpose
I'll say it clearly.. im simulating a uhf radiating antenna, to be placed somewhere inside the transformer tank. And I want to see how the uhf radiations from antenna are crossing (or getting distracted by) the winding and reaching the other end of tank, if possible to measure quantitatively using some probes on transformer wall. Can u help me pls..
Well now it makes little more sense. If I sum up what I get is that you want to simulate an antenna (UHF) along with the transformer and then see how the performance of that antenna is affected by the presence of that transformer. I would again say that yeas you can do it but you start thinking transformer as an antenna as in reality transformer is a coil wound on some core so you can model it in CST and then you can note the affect of it on performance of your antenna. As right now you are not evaluating the performace of transformer rather taking it as an object in path of antenna
