CST Farfield simulation with two ports
Hi all
I designed a Transceiver-Antenna at 24GHz using CST Microwave studio. The system contains a 1*4 Patch array as transmitter and a 1*4 Patch array as receiver. Both antennas have their own port.
When I do the simulation I get all S-Parameters and the Farfield of the receiver or the transmitter antenna.
My problem is, that (because of my microwave circuit) the receiver antenna will also radiate power with a specific energy and phase (this is because of the 'bad' isolation of my mixer). This radiation will change my radiated farfield.
How can I simulate this in MWS? I need a possibility to give each defined port an energy and 'phase'. The system should calculate me the complete farfield given by the radiation of both ports (=antennas)
Thanks
Hi,
yepp... it's possible. That is an easy step. Just calculate your antennas by letting the solver run. Once, that is done for each port you combine the results. Go "Results->Combine Results". You now can define the phase and amplitude of each single port. Done.
Another way is this. You choose Source type "Selection" and click on "exitation list" in the "Transient Solver Parameters" menu (it pops up when you start the Transient solver). You then can change the exitation for each single port by changinge the amplitude and phase. Click ok and the start the solver. Done.
Did it help you? Drop me a line if you need more help.
